I'm the type of guy that gets completely absorbed in a subject for a few months and tries to milk the most out of a message to try and find the hidden meaning that the author perhaps was truly trying to reveal.
With one subject coming to it's conclusion, it's time to start the search for the next topic that has some hidden depth. The changing of a season like this evokes a desire to search afresh for teaching from Heaven's eternal lecture theatre. I find myself considering the 'the culture of Heaven' and it's impact on our civilisation.
'Oh boy this is deep' - you may say, yes it is, but in it's simplicity we find truth. Have you ever thought about Biblical truth being interpreted in our culture as primarily physical and believers interpreting heavenly culture primarily through in our rational mind. I guess you might have been expecting me to say spiritual, but because we are not yet spiritual beings ourselves, we can only primarily consider spiritual interaction on a Rational level.
Have you ever thought about a few simple things.
SEX - our cultural perception of sex is that it's a physical act, yet in the culture of Heaven it's a rational one, you only have to think it and it becomes a measureable reality in the culture of Heaven.
MURDER - sometimes in life, and often evoked by bad driving habits, murder becomes a consideration, yet in the culture of Heaven murder is a reality the moment it is thought.
There's just two simple illustrations
Oh boy, now I've excluded half the audience.
What I know of Jesus is that his measurement often tested the smallest thought to it's absolute.
He never advocated trying to succeed in a fractured world. He advocated being a conduit of the culture of Heaven, being a citizen of that place, seeing Himself as a visitior to earth for a season. That concept alone deserves a complete rethink of what we are sub-consciously instructed to live by our interaction with our surroundings and environment.
The Jesus model of living, is peaceful, seeks the best of others, always desires to bless and always believes for what is impossible. This methodology is an anathema to the physical and rational realms.
We would do well today, to throw away our stress, rationally refocus on the issues that we cannot solve and hand over our problems to a physical stranger who's name is Jesus.
Why would we trust someone we can't see, we can't touch or smell, and we have no written communication with is questionable at the least. Yet, as believers we live on a weighing scale of life, that in time builds enough evidence that we can not longer deny His existence or power, somehow, His way is higher, greater, more influential and more eternally significant than anything we could have come up with, had we denied He ever existed.
The real brain bender is as we relax into becoming as influential as He is, through following His teaching and being a reflection of Him on earth, we quickly attain a greater influence footprint than we ever had trying to impose our reflection on our environment.
Would we have even thought this way, if we had not believed ?

"but because we are not yet spiritual beings ourselves, we can only primarily consider spiritual interaction on a Rational level"
"The Jesus model of living, is peaceful, seeks the best of others, always looks to bless and always believes for what is impossible"
"relax into becoming as influential as He is"
Deep yet so simple. These words are life changing Carl, thanks!
