You kind of have to go with the flow on mission trips, not allowing things which would be an annoyance at home, becoming a problem when you're away. Snoring is one such thing.
Part of missions travel is to leave these things go, and find a positive out of it. If nothing else, when you share a room with a person who snores, if you allow it, it will help your prayer life, focusing on God and the issues arising on the trip. It's amazing if we press into God when the slightest frustration may come our way, God has a way of engaging our heart and passion and help us grow beyond the moment to embrace the wider context of His heart. I wonder if God get's frustrated with our snoring ?
We are winding down from the trip and winding up for our journey home. Packing in a last minute visit to the pharmacy for re-hydration salts for a sick world renown journalist - Peter Wooding. Working out what we can leave behind to bless the precious folk here and then try and mull over the experiences, challenges and blessings of a trip that I don't get to make too often these days, but miss desperately and hope the time between this and the next visit won't be as long.
Having said that, it's the first trip for many years where I don't feel like I would love to stay, love to move to the country concerned, so what's different, I now have the best reason in the world to return home - the love of my life Rebekah.
By the way, apparently the level of my own snoring could put a pneumatic drill to shame.... We're off to the airport, via lunch in Lugogo 'Mall'.....
I hope you have enjoyed the journey, please leave a comment/message, what did we miss, what could we have covered which might have taken you on our journey more effectively.... Thanks for reading.
